Abstract

We all are well aware of the medicinal values of plants. They are one of the most important sources of medicines. Medicinal plants are extensively utilized throughout the world in two distinct areas of health management; the traditional system of medicine and the modern system of medicine. Alangium salvifolium, a well known medicinal plant enlisted in ayurveda which is widely used by the tribals for the treatment of various ailments is reported in mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh State. Alangium salvifolium, commonly known as Ankolah (Ankola) is categorized under threatened (rare) plant species.
